The UKE hopes to put an end to SMS scams
SMS competitions may soon be a thing of the past with news that telecom regulator UKE is hoping to eventually ban them once and for all.
Head of UKE Anna Strezynska says the regulator is constantly inundated with complaints from disgruntled customers, fed up with being fooled into sending expensive replies to SMS competitions and lotteries.
She says proposals have been sent outlining regulation changes, although the ultimate aim to see such scams eventually banned. ...
