The ex-Cichociemni troops hope for one more film
The remaining members of Poland’s Cichociemni elite army unit met President Bronislaw Komorowski this week to celebrate the 70th anniversary of its first parachute onto Polish territory.
Created in England during WWII to carry out special operations in an occupied Poland, the main aim of the Cichociemni (‘The Dark and Silent’) was to help swell the ranks of the Polish underground Home Army (Armia Krajowa) in its struggle against the Nazis.
