It took a dead rat for councillors to believe the problem
An angry housewife fed up with rat infestation decided to take matters into her own hands by slapping a dead rodent down on a city council desk.
With her dilapidated apartment building in desperate need of renovation, Lodz resident Zdzislawa Szczerbinska (50) visited local council offices twice, but was told both times that there was no problem and that she was imagining things.
Deciding enough was enough, Mrs Szczerbinska caught one of the offending rats that had been making her and her neighbours’ lives a misery and, aided by a local television station, marched down to the offices to show the council she meant business.
