It is hoped the new Facebook game will help generate funds for the children's clinic
A clinic in Wroclaw helping children with cancer has harnessed the power of Facebook to help it raise money for badly needed new buildings.
The Oncology, Paediatric Haematology and Bone Marrow unit in the city, which looks after 70 seriously ill children, has come up with ClinCity - an application for Facebook which it hopes will help bring it the PLN 60 mln it needs to start building a new clinic.
Aping the success of online game Farmville, Facebook users can while away the time taking care of the ‘virtual clinic’ by doing humdrum tasks such a cutting the grass and feeding the waterfowl. Playing is free, with money coming from sponsors every minute somebody plays.
