Kowalczyk starts as the season’s best skier
Justyna Kowalczyk began her pursuit of five gold medals in the Nordic Skiing World Championships in Oslo this Thursday with a 5th place in the sprint, while the gold medal was won by her arch-rival, the Norwegian Marit Bjoergen.
Kowalczyk begins the World Championships safe in the knowledge that she is already the season’s best skier, winning the Crystal Ball for the best points score in World Cup events this winter. This is her third such title in a row.
