Braga progress to the next round after knocking out Lech
Lech Poznan became the latest in a long line of Polish sides to be eliminated from European competition immediately following the winter break. Despite taking a 1-0 lead into the second leg of the tie against Sporting Braga, the Railwaymen were unable to hold on, conceding two goals in a sloppy first half where they were comprehensively outplayed. Braga go on to face Liverpool, a tie that Lech can now only dream of playing.
