The new laws have won approval amongst gay rights groups
The government has announced that it may soon change the law to allow couples of the same sex to marry abroad.
Poland’s Minister for Equality, Elzbieta Radziszewska, stated this week that laws relating to gay partners need to be updated to being Poland more in line with other western nations.
However, according to TVP, the amendment will only enable couples to enter wedlock by marrying in a different country.
The move comes after an announcement last month by the European Commission that it will look into the workings of registry offices in Poland to investigate discrimination towards gay and lesbians who wish to marry abroad.
