Firefighters in Gdansk were forced to rescue a man who found himself drifting 200 metres out at sea on a piece of ice this week.
Mr Kawolski, 23, had been boozing with friends when he was dared to walk out as far as he could to test the ice’s strength.
“It seemed like a good idea at the time,” said one of his drinking buddies. “There was a crack and he started to float away. At first we thought it was funny, but then he started screaming for help.”
After being rescued, Mr Kawolski was taken to hospital and treated for hypothermia. ...
