Wojciech Szczesny’s dream rise to number one keeper at Arsenal, and the switch from loanee at Brentford to facing the might of Barcelona at the Nou Camp, all went a bit awry this Tuesday evening. It was only in the 19th minute that he dislocated the middle finger of his left hand in stopping a shot from Dani Alves. Szczesny is awaiting the results of tests, and if he has damaged the tendon, he will be out for the rest of the season.

“I’m really down. I hope it won’t be too bad, but I’m afraid I may be out for a while. I’ll find out on Thursday if I need an operation on it or not,” Szczesny told reporters. Barcelona went on to eliminate the London side from the Champions Leag ...
