52 convicts have been pardoned under Mr Komorowski
A total of 52 convicts have been pardoned by Bronislaw Komorowski during his term as president so far, says weekly Gaztea Polska.
According to the paper, five of those pardoned were done so with the ‘Extraordinary Presidential Mode’, a mode introduced by the late Lech Kaczynski whereby the president speaks to the court and Prosecutor’s Office to establish whether someone can be pardoned instead of making a final decision using what the court and office have already suggested.
The paper also states that Mr Komorowski has signed pardons for criminals which President Kaczynski had previously refused.
