Polonia gaffer Theo Bos (right) is now looking for a new job
After an eventful weekend on the pitch in Poland’s Ekstraklasa, everyone managed to be talking instead about off-field matters, courtesy of controversial Polonia Warszawa owner Jozef Wojciechowski. He stole the limelight by firing his team’s Dutch manager, Theo Bos, together with his entire backroom staff, then followed it up by casting star striker Ebi Smolarek into the reserves.
This means Wojciechowski has now fired fifteen managers in a mere five years in charge of the Black Shirts. Bos’s sacking came on the back of a 1-0 loss to Zaglebie Lubin that left Polonia hovering a mere three points off the relegation zone.
