PKP Intercity announced former board member Janusz Malinowski as its new President this week.

At the shareholder’s meeting, the transport company also stated that a new member, Tadeusz Matyl, had joined the board.

The changes come in the wake of former PKP CEO Grzegorz Medza’s resignation in late January. Although the official reason for leaving was given as ‘personal reasons’, it is widely suspected that the real reason was due to the chaos surrounding the trains over the Christmas and New Year period.
