'Pole Sucht Frau' has caused an uproar for its negative portrayal of Poles
A German TV station has caused a furore after airing a comedy sketch featuring a beer-drinking Pole who lives in a dirty pig sty.
Based on Dutch show ‘A Farmer Wants a Wife’, the comedy sketch, entitled ‘Pole Sucht Frau’ (‘A Pole Searches For a Wife’) follows Marek, a Pole who lives in squalor and shares meals of carrots with his pet goat.
In the show, the uncivilised man attempts to woo a string of German blonde girls into becoming his partner and refers to his two brothers, ‘pig’ and ‘donkey.’
