Gollob stands defiant
Tomasz Gollob is determined to defend his World Championship, despite the ongoing row between the Polish riders and the FIM, which governs the Speedway Grand Prix.
The FIM is sticking to its guns over the new exhausts which Gollob, like his fellow Poles, opposes. “The new silencers take away 20-25 percent of the engine power, and riding like that is really dangerous. The tracks in Poland are really heavy, with lots of sand and clay. It’s different in England or Sweden. In the UK the tracks are mostly brick dust, so they’re more slippy, you don’t need as much power.”
