Mr Drzewiecki has finally been cleared along with Mr Chlebowski
Two politicians at the centre of a corruption scandal that shook the present government walked free after a court ruled there was insufficient evidence to prosecute.
The court said that the case against Miroslaw Drzewiecki, a former sports minister, and Zbigniew Chlebowski, ex-chairman of Civic Platform’s parliamentary club, should be dropped due to a lack of evidence.
“At no stage during the investigation have we been able to demonstrate that the law was broken,” said Prosecutor Arkadiusz Buskiewicz, although the court did question the ethics of the behaviour of the politicians.
