With Euro 2012 approaching rapidly, Poland’s hooligan fraternity is intent on showing its strength in a manner that bodes very ill for the upcoming tournament. Government ministers are talking tough, but known hooligans simply ignore banning orders and continue to lead the racist and murderous chanting that is now de rigeur on Poland’s football terraces. Polish courts have issued a total of 1700 banning orders, but the clubs have only implemented 172 of them.
