The scale of alleged bribes has shocked Polish prosecutors
US corporate giant Johnson & Johnson allegedly paid Polish doctors to use their products as part of one of the biggest corruption campaigns to hit the country’s health service.
According to daily Fakt, the company, which produces some of the world’s best known sanitary and medical products, spent millions of dollars in Poland and involved as many as 172 Poles as part of its international campaign to increase sales that ran from 2000 to 2006.
It is also alleged that the payments helped the US company make an estimated USD 4.3 mln in sales in Poland alone.
