Borussia Dortmund, together with their three Polish players, stand on the brink of the Bundesliga title, bringing Robert Lewandowski’s first season overseas to a successful conclusion. It was Lewandowski who caught the eye in Dortmund’s 3-0 win over Freiburg last weekend that took them eight points clear at the top. Lewandowski scored the first with a cool finish after the ball ricocheted off a Freiburg defender, then supplied a slide rule pass for the third, splitting the Freiburg defence and leaving two Dortmund colleagues two walk the ball into the net. “I’m starting to accept congratulations for winning the title, but not completely, because Bayer still has a mathematical chance to catch us.”
