Tomasz Gollob is staying positive despite his poor start to the league
Poland’s defending speedway world champion, Tomasz Gollob, is predicting a strong defence of his title, in spite of an unconvincing start in the league. A few weeks ago, it looked as if Polish riders would dominate the coming speedway Grand Prix season, but Hampel’s form has dipped, Kolodziej’s bikes are slow and Holta crashed badly.
Gollob is full of optimism, though, telling Przeglad Sportowy, “You’ll see, it’ll be great! Don’t be fooled by what’s happening in the league. It may be a cliché, but the GPs are a different kettle of fish. We’ll be able to talk about form and so on after the first competition in Leszno. Everyone’s still keeping something up their sleeves ...
