In possibly the most irrelevant result of the year, Legia Warszawa won the Polish Cup, beating Lech Poznan on penalties in a match that will only be remembered for the hooligan excesses that followed. On the pitch, the spectacle was fairly forgettable, the two floundering teams delivering a 1-1 draw over 120 minutes.
