Poland tops the list when it comes to road deaths
A new report states that more pedestrians are killed in Poland than on the streets of any other EU country.
The statistics, compiled by the European Road Safety Charter (ERSC), found that between 2001 - 2009, almost 80,000 pedestrians died, making Poland responsible for approximately 20 percent of the entire deaths.
During this period pedestrian deaths have decreased in Poland by only 20 percent, compared to Spain (44 percent), Sweden (49 percent) and Portugal (56 percent).
