As many as seven clubs in the Ekstraklasa face potential relegation due to their failure to meet licensing requirements for the league. If all were to be eliminated from the competition next season, the top Polish division would number a mere nine teams and the season could be played out in three months.
The seven teams who were refused licenses this week are Polonia Bytom, Gornik Zabrze, Slask Wroclaw, Lechia Gdansk, Jagiellonia Bialystok, Polonia Warszawa and Ruch Chorzow.
