Health inspectors are now carrying out tests to determine how serious the problem may be
The health ministry sought to allay fears that the outbreak of the deadly E.coli bacteria gripping Germany could spread to Poland after two people went down with the potentially fatal illness in the west of the country.
A man in Poznan become Poland’s second victim when he was admitted to hospital while earlier a woman in Szczecin had also required hospital treatment as she battled the illness that has claimed an estimated 18 lives and left over 1,500 people ill, mostly in Germany.
Local health officials reported the Poznan man had recently returned from Germany and was responding to treatment.
