The US President paid his respects at the monument
President Obama paid his respects during his short trip to Poland by laying a wreath at the Monument of the Heroes of the Ghetto and putting his name on the invitation list for the opening of the Museum of the History of Polish Jews.
The museum, which is expected to open sometime in 2013, is being built so Polish youth can understand what a vacuum was left after WWII said historian and Chairman of the Association of the Jewish Historical Institute, Marian Turski.
He added that it was also to give people an understanding of the contribution to the modern world the European Jews made.
