The seven men were cleared of all charges
A Warsaw military court acquitted seven soldiers of war crimes charges related to the death of eight Afghani civilians.
The seven men smiled and shook hands with their lawyers when Colonel Miroslaw Jaroszewski, the presiding judge, said the five-judge panel had deemed there was insufficient evidence to prosecute the men for the deaths of the Afghanis, three of whom were children.
Warrant Officer Andrzej Osiecki, expressed his relief over the verdict, saying “I am pleased with the court verdict. I even feel euphoria now.”
