Scientists are still conducting tests on food products
Fears have been raised by the announcement that more people in Poland have fallen victim to the potentially deadly E. coli virus.
The latest case, according to Polski Radio, involves a seven-year-old boy whose father had recently been in Germany. The child’s condition is said to be “serious, but stable”.
While the boy joins a 29-year-old woman from Szczecin who has also contracted the virus, Health Minister Ewa Kopacz has stated that 18 more Poles are currently under observation and awaiting tests.
Speaking to news site TVN24, Ms Kopacz claimed that the current strain, which has been named as O104, is the deadliest strain the country has ever witnessed.
