Stefan Kurylowicz helped to put a modern face on Poland
One of Poland’s leading architects has died after two planes crashed in Spain this week.
62-year-old Stefan Kurylowicz, who helped change the face of Warsaw in the two decades following the collapse of communism, was one of four Poles who died in the crash on flights from San Sebastian to Portugal.
According to news agency PAP, Kurylowicz was “a Renaissance man, a creator of outstanding projects which changed Polish architecture. He was also a master of passing on his knowledge to others”.
Bad weather has been blamed for the accidents, with Spanish officials not ruling out that the two planes may have collided. ...
