Donald Tusk’s Civic Platform looks set to welcome a high-profile political defector after she appeared at its party convention.

Former leader of the Poland is the Most Important party (PJN) and one-time Law and Justice (PiS) star, Joanna Kluzik-Rostkowska, turned up at the Civic Platform (PO) conference in a move that all but confirmed rumours that she had decided to don PO’s colours ahead of this year’s general election.

“I am with you today because I believe that Poles want peace, not war, that Poles want to love, not hate. In a word, I am with you today because I’m with you all the way,” she told delegates.

Her presence at the rally appeared shortly after she stepped down ...
