Illegal immigrants in Poland will get a chance to settle legally under government proposals to wipe the slate clean by declaring an amnesty.
The new proposals will allow anybody residing in Poland illegally to come forward without fear of being sent on the next plane home and apply for a three-year residency permit.
“The provisions of the bill have been drawn up and have been approved by members of the cabinet,” said Rafal Rogala, head of the Office For Foreigners, a government institution handling immigration and refugee issues.
