Call for new radio guidelines

Radio Maryja was one of the stations singled out by SLD
The Democratic Left Alliance (SLD) has called for changes to be made to the way that public radio stations broadcast.
According to TVN24, the proposed amendments would mean that broadcasters would have to ensure that its programmes “strengthened social dialogue” through impartiality, balance and independence.
One of the stations that was criticised was controversial station Radio Maryja.
“[Head of the station] Father Tadeusz Rydzyk uses ‘Wild West’ tactics at the moment because there are no clear set of guidelines for public broadcasters,” said SLD spokesman Tomasz Kalita. ...
