Polish farmers are still facing an embargo on sales of vegetables to Russia, leading some here to cry foul. This week the Rospotrebnadzor, the Russian Consumer Affairs Authority, lifted bans on Greece and the Czech Republic to add to earlier concessions to Belgium, Holland, Spain and Denmark, but Poland has yet to convince its giant neighbour about the safety of its cucumbers. On June 2 Russia blocked all imports of fresh vegetables from EU countries in response to fears over the wave of EHEC poisonings in Germany.
