The storms have had a devastating effect on houses up and down the country
A vicious thunder storm pounded Poland this week, leaving one dead and a trail of destruction and flooding across the country.
A 30-year-old woman died when she was struck by flying debris in the small town of Kolodziaz to the east of Warsaw as one of the worst and most destructive storms in years tore through Poland on Thursday evening. Her brother, who was also hit, was left with serious injuries.
The fire brigade answered 3,353 emergency calls as torrential rain left roads and houses flooded, and high winds brought down trees and power cables in a swathe of land across the centre of the country.
