Mr Piesiewicz claims that his supporters will stand by him in the elections
Disgraced Civic Platform senator Krzysztof Piesiewicz has claimed that he will be standing in Poland’s elections for the upper parliamentary house.
Mr Piesiewicz made the headlines in 2009 when he was at the centre of a blackmail scandal after Polish tabloid Super Express obtained footage of him wearing a dress and appearing to snort some kind of white powder. The recordings were allegedly sent to the paper after Mr Piesiewicz stopped paying whoever was blackmailing him.
“I did no harm to anyone and I am an honest man,” the senator said this week. “We will let the voters decide. The public know that in spite of the incident I have never let them down.” ...
