The government hopes the A2 motorway will be finished in time for Euro 2012
COVEC, the Chinese construction firm originally hired to build two sections of the A2 motorway, has had its appeal rejected by the National Chamber of Appeal (KIO).
According to reports in Gazeta Wyborcza, the consortium had appealed a decision by Poland’s road authorities (GDDKiA) to decide on new contractors without a tender - an act it’s lawyers claimed However, this was dismissed as a successful appeal would have delayed the GDDKiA’s choice of a new contractor, increasing the likelihood that the job would not be completed in time for Euro 2012.
