Exploring his beat-based Romany roots, French-born Bireli Lagrene was born into a Gypsy community in 1966, and started playing the guitar aged four, before embarking on an international career at the age of twelve. The “Mozart of Gypsy jazz” released his first album ‘Routes to Django’ in 1980, honouring Belgian legend Django Rheinardt.
Lagrene also experimented with rock, electric, jazz, acoustic and Brazilian beats. “Move” is his last album from 2005 ...
