The British-born student was the daughter of Polish parents and came from East Sussex.
A 21-year-old student was brutally murdered in Krakow in the early hours of Saturday morning after making her way home from a private party.
A second-year history and philosophy student at the University of Kent, Miss Zaks, who had both British and Polish citizenship, had been living and working in Krakow over the summer.
At around 3am on Saturday she boarded a 610 night bus but soon found herself involved in an argument with the driver, who then attacked her with a hammer.
Her body was later found face down in a water-filled ditch near a railway line.
