The event reaches its climax in the Tatras
The Tour de Pologne reaches its climax this Saturday after spending the last week winding its way from Warsaw down to the Tatras. The current leader in the general classification is Peter Sagan, following Thursday’s stage which covered 200km in four loops around Zakopane. The real killer stage, though, is on Friday, taking in the mountains around Bukowina Tatrzanska, which will probably decide the winner.
The main focus of interest on Thursday’s stage was in points for the top climber, with the specialists going away on the uphill sections, but being reeled in by the peloton before a real breakaway could be established. With 5km to go, the peloton was all together and so the stage came ...
