Lukasz Piszczek, mired in the corruption scandal surrounding Polish football, could be banned from playing outside Poland as well as inside. Last week Piszczek decided not to challenge a six month ban imposed on him by the Polish FA (PZPN) following his conviction in a Polish court concerning match fixing.

It had been assumed by many that the ban affected only Poland, and so his career with the national team. Now, though, it appears that the PZPN ban applies outside Poland as well. “There’s no doubt about it. The rules state that a punishment for corruption in the home union applies in all countries associated with FIFA,” Zdzislaw Krecina, PZPN General Secretary told Przeglad Sportowy ...
