Four people including three teenage girls were killed in the crash at Nowa Huta
There was grief and mourning around the country this week as Poland witnessed a brace of plane crashes in which six people lost their lives.
Amongst the victims were three girls who, along with the pilot, died when their light aircraft slammed into the ground next to a house in Nowa Huta.
In addition to this, two other people were killed in another plane crash in Nowy Sacz.
It turned out the girls has been in the aircraft as a special treat organised by the 42-year-old pilot, who has not been named. The pilot had recently become director of Aeroklub Krakowski and offered to take the youngsters, all of them 14 and the daughters of family friends, for a trip to mark the happy occasion.
