Lukasz Fabianski is doing his utmost to oust his younger compatriot from the number one spot in goal at Arsenal. The 26-year-old has been sidelined since incurring a shoulder injury, caused accidentally by Szczesny during a warm-up towards the end of last season.

Last season was difficult for the former Legia keeper, initially winning the battle with Manuel Almunia, then making a series of high profile errors that caused the British press to label him Flappyhandski, before succumbing to injury.
