Missile Shield Tensions Grow

Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski played hardball this week in talks with the US on placing part of its planned missile-defence shield on Polish soil, saying that a deal may drag on beyond a March summit in Washington. Prime Minister Donald Tusk meets with President George Bush on March 10,and US officials had hoped the meeting would rubberstamp a deal that gives Poland military aid and investment in exchange for installations that have enraged Moscow.
