Paté or dog food on your next sandwich?
Research by the newspaper Fakt found that tinned dog food contained more meat and nutrition than cans of pate destined for human consumption.
The newspaper got experts to study the contents and ingredients of canine fodder and compared the results with pate for people. They found that dog food often contained 60 per-cent meat while in tins of pate the meat level dropped to 25 per-cent.
Much of the contents of the pate consisted of minced skin, cartilage, tendon and other bits and pieces left over from meat processing.
