Kempa has suggested the arrest of Piotr S. may be political

A Law and Justice MP leapt to the defence of an alleged football hooligan arrested on suspicion of armed robbery, saying she did not want the, “Spectre of communism to return and political views suppressed.”

Beata Kempa took her stand, vouching for Piotr S., who was detained after clashes between the police and supporters of Legia Warszawa football club broke out during a march last month to commemorate the start of the Warsaw Uprising.

Later it transpired Piotr S., a vocal Legia supporter often seen leading the crowd with a megaphone, had been wanted by police investigating an armed robbery.
