Police are still being issued with out of date DNA kits
DNA kits used by the police to gather evidence have come under the spotlight after revelations that many of the sets are out of date.
According to TVN24, more than 200,000 sets were bought by the police back in 2004-2005, however despite being now four years out of date, many are still being used.
“We are using these kits and pieces of equipment every day,” one police officer, who wished to remain anonymous, told the news site. “All of them bear the expiration date of ‘2007’ on the packaging, yet we’re still being issued them.”
