The winners won PLN 28 mln each, breaking a new record
There was big cause for celebration in two different parts of the country this week as two lucky winners shared a record payout in the Polish national lottery.
According to reports on TVN24, a resident of Warsaw and another from the Baltic coastal town of Reda will split the prize, picking up a cool PLN 28 mln each.
The whopping sums are the largest ever paid out to any one person, beating the previous largest prize of PLN 24.5 mln which was claimed by one individual. The reason the Lotto draw had grown to such an amount was down to the fact that nobody had had six winning numbers since the beginning of September, causing a series of rollovers.
