Some goods such as edible underwear have been taken away for testing
A number of sex shops were visited by sanitary inspectors this week after there were complaints from customers about some of the goods on sale.
According to Gazeta Wyborcza, teams from Sanepid turned up at five shops and one warehouse to confiscated items such as edible underwear and sweets shaped like intimate body parts.
Pawel Policzkiewicz, a spokesman for the agency, said they had been contacted by a number of people who had fallen ill after purchasing the goods.
“We looked for things that people can eat and this ranged from penis-shaped lollipops to edible thongs,” he added.
The goods will now be tested and depending on results, may have to be permanently removed. ...
