Authorities have since promised to repaint the zebra crossing
It was reported this week that pedestrians in Wloclawek, unhappy with authorities who had forgotten to repaint a zebra crossing on a busy street, decided to take matters into their own hands.
According to daily Fakt, citizens in the northern town became so frustrated with the situation on Stodolnej Street, that they waited until nightfall and began marking out their own makeshift crossing, in an attempt to help slow down traffic and make it safer for pedestrians.
The bizarre situation arose after the road was renovated one month ago, but authorities allegedly neglected to return and finish the job.
