The two sets of twins received PLN 770,000 in total
Two sets of twins were awarded a total of PLN 770,000 by the courts after they were separated from each other 58 years ago.
According to reports in daily Gazeta Wyborcza, the incident occurred in a hospital in the south-eastern town of Przeworsk shortly after the four babies were born way back in 1953.
Hospital books show that two sets of twins (a boy and a girl and two boys) were born during the same week and while there is no official information which might suggest how the mistake happened, it is believed that the mix up took place while the babies were being bathed and two of the boys were accidently swapped.
