A prison governor has been arrested after allegedly stabbing dead a convict because “voices” told him to do it.
The 50-year-old commander of a jail in the northern town of Sztum faces a life sentence, if found guilty of the brutal attack on the prisoner, Jozef S.
According to the newspaper Fakt, suspect Andrzej G. let himself into the 66-year-old inmate’s cell, produced a kitchen knife and stabbed him four times, leaving the victim with mortal wounds.
Prosecutors said that after his arrest the suspect claimed he had no recollection of murdering his prisoner. “I did not know what was going on. I was not aware of anything,” he told investigating prosecutors. However the paper ...
