Two refs have been demoted after poor results
Two Ekstraklasa referees have been demoted to the lower divisions following glaring errors during last weekend’s matches which clearly affected the results. The mistakes were so obvious that Sports Minister Adam Giersz isn’t ruling out the possibility that gambling corruption was involved. “It’s essential the footballing authorities and the legal organs look into the situation,” Giersz commented on his Facebook site.
Bydgoszcz referee Adam Lyczmanski messed up by not blowing for a foul on the Jagiellonia keeper, who was essentially barged over the line. Following the unfairly awarded equaliser, Wisla struck twice more to take the match and the points.
